Travel Itinerary

 

Day 1:  Arrival to Istanbul. 

    Welcome to Istanbul. Arrival in Istanbul and transfer (optional) to your hotel. İf transfer needed We meet you at Istanbul Airports and transfer you to your Hotel  located in the Old City area-Sultanahmet. According to your arrival time you can either check in to the hotel and relax or join our orriantation walking tour around the  Hippodromme Square.

Day 2 :  Istanbul – Old City  Tour .  (B,L,)

    After having breakfast at the Hotel, Our guide meets you  and We  start our day trip around 09:00 am

We see how old meets new when you visit  Istanbul's five  "must-see" historic sites.

The sites include : The Hippodrome (At Meydani) ,Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace.

Hippodrome of Constantinople

Tour Starts from the heart of the old city Turkish: Sultanahmet Meydanı, At Meydanı, was a horse-racing track that was the sporting and social centre of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire and the largest city in Europe. Obelisk of Theodosius, Serpentine Column, German Fountain of  Wilhelm II are visited.

Blue Mosque
One of the most famous monuments in both the Turkish and Islamic worlds, the Sultan Ahmet Mosque (also known as the Blue Mosque) is a superb creation in the classical Ottoman style. The mosque has six towering minarets and 260 windows illuminating its vast main chamber, which is decorated with more than 20,000 Iznik tiles.

Topkapı Palace
The largest and oldest palace in the world, Topkapi is the crown jewel of the Ottoman Empire. With its harem (additional cost), treasury and exotic buildings overlooking the Golden Horn, your visit to Topkapi promises to be a truly fascinating experience.

Hagia Sophia
Now a museum, Hagia Sophia was built in the 6th century by the Emperor Justinian, and was one of the largest basilicas in the Christian world. After the Ottoman conquest, it was converted to a mosque and is today one of the most magnificent museums in the world. Take a moment to linger here to admire the fine Byzantine mosaics.

Grand Bazaar
In operation since the 14th century, the Grand Bazaar is one of the world's largest covered markets, with 58 streets and over 4,000 shops. The bazaar is specially known for its jewelry, leather, pottery, spices and carpets.Visit of  Carpet Center and art demonstration

Overnight in Istanbul.

 

Day 3:  Bosphorus cruise tour and Asian side . (B)

     We leave the hotel with our guide after breakfast at 09.00 am. Discover the rest of  Istanbul with full-day sightseeing tour including Bosphorus boat cruise.

Golden Horn is an inlet of the Bosphorus dividing the city of Istanbul and forming a natural harbor.One can see the old city and Galata tower  panoramicly while cruising from

Spice Bazaar is located close to water front nearby theYeni Mosque. This is a bazaar  where you can find numerous kind of spices, dried fruits, nuts and seeds and also many other things.

Bosphorus Cruise through the waterway separating the two continents, Europe and Asia, with a possibility to take photographs of marble palaces, ancient wooden villas of Ottoman architecture besides modern residentials and luxurious apartments.

Rumeli Fortress can be seen from the sea It is located on a hill at the European side of the Bosphorus just north of the Bebek district . It was built by the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II between 1451 and 1452, before he conquered Constantinople. There are three great towers dominant to the Bosphorusis one of the most popular highlights of İstanbul . Beautiful settings and the plesant breeze adds to the pleasures of a boat trip.  Bosphorus, also known as the Istanbul Strait connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara

Return to Hotel.Free time in afternoon.

Overnight in Istanbul.

 

Day 4 : Gallipoli & Anzac areas tour.  (B.L.)

     After having early breakfast at the hotel,Transfer to the Bus Station for Bus to Gallipoli at 06.30 am.

Upon arrival to Gallipoli,you are picked up and join the Gallipoli tour , visiting Anzac Cove, Lone pine cemetery Johnston's jolly (Turkish and Allied Trenches and tunnels), The Nek and hunuk Bair New Zealand memorial. Arrive to Hotel around 18:30 pm and check it  to the hotel.

Overnight in Eceabat or Canakkale.

 

Day 5 : Troy (B.L)
After having breakfast at the hotel, You join the Troy Half  day tour ,

Troy is the legendary city of Homer in his book of Iliad and center of the Trojan War.You will discover its ruins  and Megaron houses, ancient city walls, a small Roman Theatre and archeological excavation areas with your guide.

Lunch is on tour.

After tour you will be transferred to the bus station for your bus to Selcuk or Kusadasi. Upon arrival in to Selcuk or Kusadasi ,you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 6 : Ephesus tour (B.L)

     After having breakfast at the Hotel  Our Days starts with the visit of ;

House of the Virgin Mary is 8 km from Ephesus on the hills. The Vatican has recognized this small site in the Solmissos Mountains as the final resting place of the Virgin Mary. A small chapel dedicated to St. Mary was founded when the ruins of the house were first discovered.

Ephesus, is considered one of the great outdoor museums of Turkey. Ephesus Tour  starts from the upper entrace gate.Ancient city has 3 main streets .We  see the Baths of Varius ,Odeon, Prytaneion,Fauntain of Polio,The Gate of Heracles ,State Agora, public toilets, Temple of Hadrian , Temple of Domitian , Library of Celsus, Great Theater and Horbour street with necropolis.

Lunch in the old Village of Selcuk,  Than visit of ;

St. John's Basilica, A part of the site, was built in the 6th century AD, under emperor Justinian I over the supposed site of the apostle's tomb. It is now surrounded by Selçuk.

After tour, you will be transferred to the bus station for your bus to Pamukkale. Upon arrival in to Pamukkale ,you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 7 : Pamukkale & Hierapolis Tour (B.L)

     After having breakfast at the Hotel ,Our day starts with the discovery of the  ;

Hierapolis  with its largest Necropolis of the ancient hellenistic world, Roman basilical baths , Domitian gate, latrines, Agora, collonaded street and Byzantine gate and Roman fauntains.

Lunch in the village of Pamukkale.

Than we go for the Thermal pools and have 1 hour to enjoy hot pools.Than walk to the travertine terraces at Pamukkale are one of the most spectacular natural wonders from various mineral springs in a vast white cliff side, about 200 m overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have dripped down over a series of terraced levels and created a fairyland of bizarre solidified cascades and shell-shaped basins.

After tour, you will be transferred to the bus station for your bus to Fethiye. Upon arrival in to Fethiye ,you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 8 : Fethiye Boat Cruise (B.L.D)

     Departure from Fethiye Harbour between 11 and 12 a.m. to Samanlik Bay for swimming & lunch.  Butterfly Valley (sea conditions permitting) is our next stop for a swim & to visit this natural reserve, hosting 136 kinds of different butterflies and moths.  Afterwards we cruise to Ölüdeniz (The Blue Lagoon) again sea conditions permitting. Option for paragliding available. Last stop of the day is St-Nicholas Island. Visit the Byzantine ruins, swim, dinner & 1st night

Day 9 : Boat Cruise (B.L.D)

Around sunrise departure to Aquarium or Firnaz Bay near Kalkan for breakfast & swimming. Cruising to Kas where we stop in the harbour for lunch & visit of this charming fishing village. Of ancient Antiphellos, as Kas was once known, only Lycian rock tombs & sarcophagi and the Roman theatre are left. But the charm of the town remains!  In a bay near Kekova we stop for swimming, dinner & the 2nd night.

 

Day 10 : Boat Cruise (B.L.D)

Breakfast.  Departure to Sunken City of Kekova (this Lycian- Roman archaeological site is protected, so only looking!).  Simena, a traditional Turkish fishing village with no car access and Byzantine/Ottoman castle.  In Gökkaya Bay water sports are available. Dinner, relax in this pirates haven or party the night away at the Smugglers Inn

 

Day 11 : Boat Cruise (B.L.D)

After breakfast we have a look at the Pirates Cave before cruising to Andriace harbour (lunch).  Bus transfer to the archaeological site of Myra, and to Demre for the St-Nicholas Church, shopping and banking when requested.  Bus transfer to all Tree houses in Olympos where we arrive between 4 and 6 p.m

Day 12 : Free Day in Olympos (B.L.D)

   You may  enjoy the clean beaches of Olympos in day time  , and even evening you may visit Chimeara,it is a hill with spontaneous eternal flame burning here since ancient times.

Transfer to Antalya bus  station for an overnight bus to Cappadocia.

 

Day 13 :  Cappadocia - Volcanic area and Churches Tour.  (B,L,)

    After having breakfast at the Hotel ,We depart for a Volcainc area tour with our guide.We visit :

Goreme Open Air Museum, It’s the most famous attraction, for good reason, a complex of several painted cave-churches carved out by Orthodox monks between 900 and 1200 AD.

Uchisar Castle The natural rock citadel of Uçhisar is the tallest point in Cappadocia, visible for a great distance from the region's other towns such as Urgup and Avanos

Lunch in a cave restaurant and we taste local pottery Kebab

Avanos on the banks of the Red River in Cappadocia is all about pottery-making. You can see pottery being made, and even take a pottery-making class and make some yourself.

Pasabagi The best place to see three-headed fairy chimneys. Pasabag, the Pasha's Vineyard, is surrounded by incredible natural rock formations; a spectacular scene.

Devrent Valley, The ruins at Devrent are spread over  three valleys, which also house several pointed fairy chimneys with large stems.

Dinner in Goreme Valley in a local restaurant.

Overnight in Cappadocia in a cave hotel.

 

Day 14 :  Hiking & Underground city Tour.  (B,L,)

    After having breakfast at the Hotel, We hike 3 km in

Red Valley  through orchards and vineyards, between fairy chimneys and rock-carved houses, You can see the old cave churches  and pigeon dwellings in caves.

Cavusin : Afterwards, visit the old Village of Cavusin with it’s deserted houses after 1960’s looks like a ghost town. Christian missionaries and communities once lived in the old Cavusin valley, now in ruins.

Lunch in a small village house.We drive to Visit the famous ;

Kaymaklı Underground City . it is contained within the citadel of Kaymaklı. First opened to tourists in 1964 . The houses in the village are constructed around the nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city. Each space is organized around ventilation shafts. The tunnels and underground rooms are still used today as storage areas, stables,winery, living areas, cellar and cave churches.

Pigeon Valley in Cappadocia consists of plenty of pigeon houses. The pigeon droppings were also used as fuel and fertilizers. Travelers come to this place to see a wide variety of architectural structures. The pigeon houses are carved in rock. The wonderful architecture constructed amidst the idyllic landscape makes it a magnificent sight. Chimneys have been craved in the rocks. The chimneys consist of caves which were used as hiding places for Christians who escaped from the Romans.

  

Departure to Istanbul by flight from Kayseri Airport Or by an overnight bus to Istanbul.
