Tour Itinerary

After pick up from Hotel or port , We visit the most historical Bazaars of  Istanbul, Carpet and traditional Leather centers .

 

Grand Bazaar
In operation since the 14th century, the Grand Bazaar is one of the world's largest covered markets, with 58 streets and over 4,000 shops. The bazaar is specially known for its jewelry, leather, pottery, spices and carpets.Visit of  Carpet Center and art demonstration.

 

Spice Bazaar

it is located close to water front nearby the New Mosque. This is a bazaar  where you can find numerous kind of spices, dried fruits, nuts and seeds and also many other things.

 

Arasta Bazaar & Mosaic Museum

   The Arasta Bazaar complex was built at the same time as the Blue Mosque and functioned as a market area,the rents of which went towards the mosque's upkeep.It comprises 2 shop lined squares behind the Blue Mosque and a row of stable like shops stretching the length of the mosque's precinct.

   The marketplace behind the Sultanahmet Mosque is situated on the remains of a great palace of the Byzantine Emperors. The mosaics discovered are thought to decorate the floor of a large hall in the palace. Scenes depicted by these realistic mosaics panels show a variety of wild and domestic beasts and includes some hunting and fighting scenes. Following the discovery of these mosaics, other mosaics unearthed in other sections of the city were framed by concrete panels and brought to the museum to be displayed.

 

Carpet center

Visit one of the Carpet centers of Istanbul and learn about Carpets,Rugs,Prayer rugs,Anatolian Kilims, and anything handmade by local Ladies.With an expert you may discover the historical background of this art , see how they obtain the colours for the materials, weaving technics,different raw materials used as wool, cotton and silk..and see the combination of them and enjoy your shopping there with flying carpets.

 

Leather Center

Leather processing is a traditional handicraft in Anatolia and became very famous in last 3 hundered years.Turkey is one of the best quality leather producing countries.With the visit of a loacal leather Shop, you may find soft leather and suede coats, jackets, skirts, dresses, vests, hats, gloves, handbags, wallets and many other items for you or for your family. You may have a garment custom-made to your specifications (size, style, color, accessories, etc.) for the same price

 

Lunch in a local restaurant in Old city area.

End of tour return to Hotel or port.
